The Adler Planetarium was one of our local stops in Chicago. Like many of the learning institutions we visited, it was sensorially engaging visually and haptically. Being able to touch and hold some of the artifacts really made the experience feel real and genuine. Wayfinding wasn’t as intuitive as we had hoped, but the docents there were very knowledgeable and helpful. One docent, in particular, peaked our curiosity, and showed us around the lower level of the planetarium; this social interaction, in some ways, made our experiences.
