Michelle Chang joined VDTA in 2016 and brings with her extensive design and leadership experience with large-scale, complex projects, on a wide variety of project types including commercial, residential, academic, and campus master plans.
Her first project with VDTA is construction administration for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Student Housing South, a project featuring seven multi-story student residences, an administration building, and a parking garage. Prior to VDTA, Michelle worked for over 7 years at Rafael Vinoly Architects in New York City as an integral member on both the firm's architectural and marketing/business development endeavors, where she was responsible for project and technical coordination, design development, space planning, and visualization. Most recently she was a team leader for an 8.3 million square-feet mixed-use town center in Cupertino, CA.
Michelle's design interests are founded on her education and training in both architecture and product design. These interests continue to inform her passion for interdisciplinary creative thinking and her curiosity about the influence of well-designed spaces on people's lives.
