After spending a summer as an intern at VDTA’s Chicago office, Matt Gilbert rejoined the studio full time in 2013. Matt brings extensive software knowledge and a collaborative working style to the studio. He recently completed graduate studies at the University of Michigan, which included extensive study of the city of Detroit and a travel studio exploring contemporary architectural practice in China. During his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois, Matt’s work was twice awarded the School of Architecture’s Earl Prize for excellence in undergraduate design studios. A Chicago-area native, Matt is excited to participate in the city’s design culture and tradition of architectural innovation. Matt is currently pursuing LEED accreditation and his architectural license in Illinois.
