Hiba Bhatty is currently a studio member at the Chicago office of Valerio Dewalt Train Associates. After obtaining her B.Arch and a minor in Urban Planning at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Hiba went on to attend the Yale School of Architecture where she completed her M.Arch I. She was awarded the Rome Continuity and Change Fellowship. Hiba’s academic and professional experiences showcase her drive for public-interest design. She was a Public Policy and International Affairs Fellow at Princeton University, where she pursued community-rooted design solutions. She has also led numerous public service initiatives. For example, as the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Yale Building Project, she served as a liaison between students and community members during the construction of an affordable home in New Haven, CT. Drawing from personal experiences, she has worked closely with the special needs community and has led workshops and service projects for Women in Architecture and the American Institute of Architecture Students.
