Palo Alto Office: VDTA has maintained an active practice in the Silicon Valley for many years.
Based on our successful relationships with a number of clients based in Northern California, we opened an office in Palo Alto in July of 2007.
This growing office is led by VDTA Associate Antonio Caliz and is located on High Street in the heart of downtown Palo Alto.

Awards
Kresge Foundation: The Chicago Chapter of the American Institute of Architecture has
awarded the Kresge Foundation with three of its highest honors. In 2006, the building received two Honor Awards, the Distinguished
Building Award and the Interior Architecture Award. In 2007, it was recognized with a Sustainable Design Award.

Garmin Flagship Store: The Chicago Chapter of the AIA has awarded the Garmin Flagship Store its highest recognition, and Honor Award for Interior Architecture. The award was presented at the group’s Design Night Gala in October 2007.

Exhibitions
Visionary Chicago Architecture: Sponsored by the Chicago Central Area Committee,
and curated by Stanley Tigerman and William Martin, Visionary Chicago Architecture is an exhibition that targets seven Chicago
gateways and assigns each to a pair of architects, one younger, one more established, to envision its future. Joe Valerio's
proposal for the Musee de L'eau is among the featured projects.
The exhibit which was on display at Millenium Park ran through July 15th 2005.

Kresge: With its completion in February of 2006, the Kresge Foundation’s new headquarters
in Troy, Michigan is getting attention for its elegant balance of sustainability, preservation and modern good looks. Publications
such as the Contract, Chicago Tribune, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Detroit Free Press and AIA’s COTE notes have also noted Kresge’s commitment to sustainable
design through its Green Building Initiative, a new grant program.

Architect of the Year: Joe Valerio was named “Architect of the Year” by the Chicago Tribune’s Blair
Kamin in its December 31, 2006 issue. He was also named “Distinguished Alumnus” by the University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning.

Published:
Jack Train, a Founding Principal of Valerio Dewalt Train, has remained active in the profession
since his retirement from the firm in 1997. One of Jack’s abiding interests is the development
of young talent. Many current members of the firm as well as others who worked with Jack over the
years consider him a trusted mentor who helped shape their formative years. Recently, Jack published
The Unsung Essentials of Architectural Practice, a portion of which is excerpted on the web page of
the American Institute of Architects.

Promotions
In December 2006, the firm announced the following promotions:
David Rasche to Principal, and
Antonio Caliz to Associate.

David Rasche, AIA For many years at VDTA, David Rasche has brought a strong focus on technology
and its impact on design to each of his projects, as well as to the firm’s broader practice. An experienced project manager
on high profile projects—including office buildings, industrial facilities and laboratories—Rasche has worked with
clients as diverse as NBC News, Cabot Microelectronics, Clear Channel Entertainment and Underwriters Laboratories. Rasche’s
current projects include a warehouse distribution center for McMaster-Carr in Elmhurst, IL, and a large-scale project for Structured
Development near downtown Chicago. Named the Blackhawk/Halsted development after two of the streets that surround the full city block
on which it resides, the project comprises two new buildings and a parking garage. One of the buildings is the five-story British
School of Chicago, and the other is a four-story, mixed-use building that will house two floors of retail operations and two floors of office space.
As VDTA’s technology advocate, Rasche is responsible for both maintaining its leadership in technical
applications and for managing and developing the firm’s information systems. He heads VDTA’s IT
department in addition to bringing his exceptional computer software skills to his work as a designer.

Antonio Caliz AIA came to VDTA with thirteen years of professional experience, including six years in Mexico and South America. Since joining VDTA in 2005, he has been assigned to the eBay North Campus project, serving as both designer and project manager. He recently relocated to California to head up VDTA’s new office in San Jose, VDTA West.
Currently, Caliz is overseeing the construction of Building 17, the first new building for eBay’s North Campus in San Jose. Before joining VDTA, Caliz participated in the design and construction of the technology center and critical listening center for Shure, and the restoration of Mies van der Rohe’s Crown Hall at the Illinois Institute of Technology. One of Caliz’s major assets to the firm is his international work experience. He has served as project architect on numerous projects around the world including an office building at the Canary Wharf Development in London and several schools in Chile and Mexico.

Jim Bogatto, CSI Among the most senior members of the firm, Jim has served
as a mentor to young staff members and plays a strong role in the development of VDTA’s professional staff. His project experience
encompasses both renovation and new construction, and includes VDTA’s newly completed Block 89 redevelopment project in Madison, WI
and the Miglin Staybridge Suites Hotel in downtown Chicago, currently under construction.

Brad Pausha, AIA, LEED AP A highly skilled project manager with a broad variety of experience
including office, residential, retail and laboratory projects, Brad joined VDTA in 1996. He is currently the project manager for the Shedd Aquarium
renovations and recently served as project manager for the Garmin flagship store on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago. Brad began as a staff
architect at Valerio Associates, a predecessor firm to VDTA. At that firm, he worked on the design of Colton Palms, an award-winning senior community in Colton, CA.

Heather Salisbury, AIA LEED AP
Heather is a veteran project manager with extensive experience in technical and corporate facilities. She has played a key
role on many of VDTA’s largest projects including eBay’s North Campus in San Jose, CA and the Kresge Foundation Headquarters
in Troy, MI. In 2005, Ms. Salisbury received an Honorable Mention in the International Union of Architects Architecture and
Water Competition as part of a team, and was a prize winner in the New Public Space Competition for Lower Main Street in Buffalo, NY.

Stephen Droll, AIA has proven to be one of VDTA’s experts at large and technically complex projects. Stephen is also a leader within the firm, involved with developing project management systems and tools and organizing employee team building activities. He is presently serving as project manager for the Blackhead & Halstead mixed-use development project in downtown Chicago.

Christine McGrath, AIA is an accomplished designer and project architect with extensive experience in technical and corporate facilities. She has been involved with several of VDTA’s’ largest projects including the Block 89 redevelopment project in Madison, WI. She is currently the project manager for the Miglin Staybridge Suites Hotel in downtown Chicago.

Dan Rappel, AIA, LEED AP has broad experience in institutional, residential, commercial and retail building types including the recently completed Kresge Foundation headquarters in Troy, MI. An Accredited LEED Professional, Dan is presently leading the design teams for Flashpoint Academy in Chicago and Walsh College in Troy, MI.

Kevin Snook, AIA has nearly ten years of experience as a project manager and strong management and
organizational skills. Since joining VDTA in 2004, he has worked on large-scale projects for developers, including office, hotel and multi-family residential
projects. Kevin is the project manager for one of VDTA’s latest residential projects, a condominium development at 1401 State Street in Chicago.

Kurt Volkman, AIA, LEED AP has worked on a broad variety of renovation and new building projects
since joining VDTA in 2000, including the NBC Broadcast Booth at both political conventions that year. Kurt’s previous experience includes work at the
Chicago Board of Trade, master planning for foreign and domestic stock exchanges, the design of the University of Illinois at Chicago Athletic Training
Facility and other university master plans.

Garmin International Flagship Store: A leading manufacturer of personal navigation devices, Garmin International opened
its first retail outlet in November of 2006 on Chicago’s North Michigan Avenue . The 15,000SF showroom features an undulating wood wall which envelopes the
2 story space, suggesting the mysteries of the natural world. The products are displayed in crisp, custom designed display units, which reflect the precision

33 E. Main: Construction is complete on this 9 story 140,000 SF office building. It is the last
project on Block 89 in Madison, Wisconsin, where Urban Land Interests has developed one of the city's best-loved mixed use properties.

1401 S. State Apartments: The south loop is one of Chicago’s hottest residential markets.
With interest rates at a historic low, most new development has been condominiums. Anticipating the upward pressure on interest rates, Lincoln
Property Residential is moving ahead with plans for a 200 unit rental property combining one and two bedroom loft style apartments. Ground floor

Halsted Blackhawk Block: For Chicago developer Structured Development, wehave completed the first phase of a mixed use development on Chicago’s north side. The first phase of the project Includes a 650-car parking structure, 100,000SF of retail
and a 75,000SF Private school. Work is underway on phase 2, which includes a 140,000SF mixed use building and a 350 car parking structure.

Columbia College Chicago: The College’s “Columbia 2010” plan envisions a “Cohesive
campus environment,” transforming a tattered but improving south Loop neighborhood to a Columbia College District. Our year long
planning study offered actionable plans for Real Estate, Development and Political strategies to help the college achieve their
vision to become a fully realized campus environment.

Shedd Aquarium:
Billed as “The World’s Aquarium,” the John G. Shedd Aquarium in Chicago is one of the the largest indoor aquariums in the world. The core facility at the Shedd is the original 1929 building designed by Graham Anderson Probst and White. With significant additions in 1991 and 2001, the Shedd has maintained its forward position with periodic well-executed exhibits and attractions. In October of 2004, VDTA completed a five year exhibit and facility master plan that will carry on the Shedd’s tradition of leadership. We are currently designing a number of projects to improve the Shedd.

Miglin Staybridge: Chicago’s LaSalle Street starts at the Board of Trade
in the heart of the City’s modern financial district and ends at the Lakefront in Lincoln Park, one of its most historic
residential districts. The Miglin Staybridge Suites, a two hundred room extended stay hotel is a marker on the skyline,
separating these two very different areas. It is the last landmark of the city’s modernist core, reveling in the messy vitality
of the urban core, before the more restrained fabric of Lincoln Park begins to dominate.

Local 399: Construction is underway on the 43,000 square foot office and training facility
for Local 399. Members of the Local 399 will use the facility to attend classes, work in labs and take care of their membership
business. The building will house the offices for the Local 399 staff and officers. The building will be located on a brownfield site

Walsh College: Walsh College, where enrollment has been growing in recent years is
planning an expansion to its Troy campus. The college recently purchased about three acres of land on which to build an estimated $14-million,
40,000-square-foot building that would include classrooms, study space and a library addition.
